things 5 and 6

Enjoyed the information found on things 5 & 6. Webmonkey seems to have a lot of options that can be of use at the library, from creating forms to questionaires. I will neeed to experiment with flickr and webmonkey with hopes of being able to show my staff how to use them.

Thing 3

Thing 3 was slightly confusing for me. I'm not sure where I access my RSS other than at google. Will the news come to my work email account, which I am not thrilled about as we have enough work emails that need to be dealt with and I don't want my email account cluttered up and possible allow spam through. I will need to play with the RSS and edit it as I go along as I do think this can be an interesting and useful tool by having information in one spot and ease of access.

Thing 2

I found the video interesting especially the part about finding time to participate in 23 things. I am still somewhat confused about l2. The wickipedia explanation helped some. I hope that as I progress through the 23 things that I will understand what this is all about. I work in a small rural library and we just got wireless internet for our patrons last month. No one has used it yet but once the word gets out I think more patrons will be using it. So I guess that by providing the wireless to our patrons and downloadable audio books, etc. is what this is all about. Growing and sharing with our patrons and our communities.

Thing 1 - well I have created my blog and created my avatar. The avatar took me a little longer than I expected but it was fun to do. I am looking forward to showing the kids that come in our library how to create an avatar for themselves. So I must say that I learned how to do 2 new things today and enjoyed the experience.

My first blog

This is the first time I have ever participated in the blogging world. I hear so much about blogs and am excited to venture into the unknown. I am not sure how things work or what to say but maybe someone will give me direction.
